3.5L EcoBoost® engine with 10-speed transmission
The 3.5L EcoBoost® delivers a 12,200-lb. maximum tow rating* and proven performance in over a half-million F-150 pickups. It delivers best-in-class torque** for a V6 engine, beating out its gasoline- and diesel-powered competitors.
All-new turbochargers deliver more boost thanks to improved twin turbos and a lighter turbine wheel. It also comes paired with an all-new 10-speed transmission, which delivers improved acceleration and performance compared with previous six-speed automatic transmissions, thanks to optimized wide-span gear spacing, coupled with drag-reduction actions. Three overdrive gears and a wider ratio span enable lower-numerical rear-axle ratios to help improve fuel efficiency at highway speeds.†

BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage
Available BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage* is now offered on the F-150. BLIS signals you in the outside mirror when a vehicle is detected in a blind spot – and provides coverage for the truck you’re driving as well as the trailer you’re towing. The cross-traffic alert feature can detect a vehicle passing behind when you’re slowly backing out of a driveway or parking space.

Aluminum-Alloy Body and Steel Frame
F-150 features a class-exclusive* cab and box fabricated from high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloys, plus a fully boxed frame with eight crossmembers (five through-welded) made of up to 78 percent high-strength steel. F-150’s vehicle weight is up to 700 pounds lighter than the previous generation, resulting in better fuel efficiency, greater towing and payload capacities, improved power-to-weight ratio for faster acceleration, enhanced handling and braking responsiveness.

2017 Raptor: Leaner and meaner
The 2017 Raptor is leaner, meaner and more powerful than ever. It’s approximately 500 pounds lighter than the previous generation, thanks to high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy plus a high-strength, boxed steel frame. It also features an all-new twin-turbo, intercooled DOHC 24-valve high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® engine with port fuel injection and direct fuel injection, a 10-speed automatic transmission, all-new four-wheel drive and 3.0-inch FOX Racing Shox™*.
