Land Cruiser is one of the safest vehicle around. It slew of features from VSC, A-TRC, Multi-terrain ABS, EBD, BA, slew of airbags and reversing camera all give peace of mind.
Let Land Cruiser 200’s vast list of safety credentials inspire you with confidence and peace of mind when you hit the road.
When it comes to protecting passengers and those around you safety is not negotiable. That is why Land Cruiser 200’s designers strove to ensure excellent safety performance in worst case scenarios.
In the area of active safety, braking performance has been increased by enlarging the brake size, and the new Multi-terrain ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) senses the surface you are driving on and adjusts accordingly. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Active Traction Control (A-TRC) optimise braking to each wheel as required.
An impressive 12 airbags are built in as standard equipment including driver and front passenger front, knee and side airbags and full length curtain shield airbags. VX Limited models also have additional second row side airbags.
Vehicle Stability Control
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) helps LandCruiser 200 hold its direction when driving through a corner. It does this by dampening understeer (front wheel sideways skid) as well as oversteer (rear wheel sideways skid) by automatically adjusting the engine output and braking force distributed to each wheel.
Active Traction Control (A-TRC)
Active Traction Control (A-TRC) manages the amount of torque distributed to each wheel, preventing tyres from locking. Brake pressure is electronically controlled at each wheel to suppress wheel spin and maintain sufficient traction, drive force is then optimally distributed to all four wheels.
Multi-Terrain Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
The Multi-Terrain Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps prevent wheels from locking in the event of emergency braking. It can also actively detect off-road conditions such as ice, sand, mud, gravel and dirt, and then adapt to different terrain for optimal braking power.
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) helps minimise stopping distances by maximising braking power to the wheels with the most grip. This smart car safety feature adjusts brake-force, wheel by wheel as required, for optimal braking ability and stability.
Brake Assist (BA)
Brake Assist (BA) interprets a quick hard push of the brake pedal as emergency braking and supplies extra braking power for more rapid deceleration. Brake Assist is coupled with the Multi-terrain Anti-lock Braking System, which automatically detects off-road conditions to optimise braking power.
SRS Airbags
The LandCruiser 200 GX is equipped with driver and front passenger SRS Airbags , driver and front passenger side and front and second row curtain shield airbags. The GXL model features driver and front passenger SRS airbags and an additional third row curtain shield. Step up to a VX or Sahara and ten SRS airbags are standard along with second row side airbags. All grades offer driver and front passenger knee airbags.
Curtain Airbags
All LandCruiser 200 models come standard with curtain shield airbags. GX models provide curtain shield airbags for both the front and second row occupants, while GXL, VX and Sahara models ensure added safety by offering full length curtain shield airbags.
Front Airbags and Side Airbags
All LandCruiser 200 models have front seat side airbags while the VX and Sahara also have second row side airbags.
Reversing Camera
The LandCruiser 200 has an in-built Reversing Camera to help make reversing safer and easier (not available on GX models). For VX and Sahara models, the camera works in conjunction with reverse parking sensors and with the Sahara model only; the image is displayed on the Electro Multi Vision (EMV) screen.
Dual airbags with 2-stage output control based on the collision speed are adopted for both the driver’s seat and front passenger’s seat. |
On-board sensors detemine road conditions so the braking system can be adjusted to achieve optimum performance |
Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seats alleviate the impact to the neck area when a rear end collision occurs while seat belt pre-tensioners also help to further reduce potential injury. Securing child safety seats is easy in the second row with two ISOFIX fixing points and three tether anchors .
A reversing camera and parking sensors assist you to be aware of hazardous objects around you and can even inform you how far away they are.
